As of April 18, 2020, Embrace Pet Insurance, PetPlan, PetFirst and HealthyPaws will reimburse pet parents for telemedicine appointments done with a licensed veterinarian through My Virtual Veterinarian.
If you have an Apple device, you can download our app from the Apple App Store by searching for "My Virtual Veterinarian." On the app, you can search the list of veterinarians available and select the one that meets your needs.
You can also request an appointment online by clicking on the "Schedule Appointment" tab. These appointments are done through the web and don't require an Apple device.
Appointments can be easily rescheduled. If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you cancel the appointment more than 12 hours before the appointment start time so that the veterinarian is able to adjust his/her workflow accordingly.
Telehealth appointments are for advice. Telemedicine appointments involve a prescription and diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian in the state where you live. Not every state allows for veterinarians to utilize telemedicine. Please reach out if you would like to know more about the regulations in the state where you live in.
Sign up for a new account as a pet parent.
Fill in your first and last name in your profile so that your veterinarian knows who he/she is speaking with.
Now it's time to input your animals!
Click on the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen and click on "My Animals." Fill in the name, animal type, and address of your animal. Don't forget to add a cute picture of your pet at the top of the screen!
Schedule an appointment with your veterinarian!
Your upcoming appointments will show up in the Upcoming tab. Your previous appointments, where you can access old chat conversations, will show up in the Previous tab.
